Doug Ripkey

Doug and Marsha grew up in separate, relatively rural parts of Pennsylvania and met the first day of their freshman year at Penn State. Having accepted Jesus’ saving grace as a teen, Marsha helped Doug as a young adult reconnect with God and His church. Since then, they’ve been together on a journey of learning how to be growing Christians during times of joy and struggle. Their early church service in suburban Philadelphia included leadership roles in the junior high fellowship and active participation in community service projects.

Having moved to Stoughton in 2004 as part of God’s plan for a life change, they’ve been attending LakeView for seven years with their daughter Carrie, currently a high school senior, and son Alex, now an 8th grade middle schooler. After years in the social work field, Marsha is an Educational Assistant in the Verona School District and Doug, with a background in statistics and educational research, works for a non-profit company that develops and scores Bar Examinations.

Individually and as a family, they’ve enjoyed the opportunities that God has provided them through LakeView to serve both the church and wider community as part of activities like short-term mission trips (the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Quad Cities), Serve 10&11, leaf raking, etc. Marsha currently serves in Children’s Ministry as a 2nd grade teacher and Doug serves in the financial area as one of the counters and as one of the leaders in Men’s Ministry. As an elder, Doug looks forward to helping LakeView reach its full potential for making God famous by demonstrating Christ-like love.
