Wedding Information

Since our purpose is to establish Christian marriages in the context of a loving community, weddings are reserved only for individuals who are committed followers of Christ and who have been regularly attending LakeView for at least six months prior to their application to be married at LakeView.

We believe sexual abstinence before marriage is God’s design for each couple. We also believe living separately from each other until the wedding day is important in creating space for you to maintain the boundaries needed to do your pre-marriage process thoroughly and with integrity.

Therefore, we ask you as a couple, to covenant with each other to abstain sexually throughout the pre-marriage period until you are married, and to live separately from each other until your wedding day. If there are any circumstances that you think merit special consideration, please explain on the wedding policy.

Plan as early as possible, so that the use of the Church facilities can be arranged without conflict. Weddings may be scheduled about a year in advance. Due to staff and facility commitments, weddings may not be possible on or around certain holidays.

The first step is to return the wedding application and the wedding policy to the LakeView Church office along with a $100.00 deposit. You may tentatively reserve a date on the application. The date will not be finalized until you have met with a pastor. Shortly after sending in your application, you will need to arrange to meet with one of our Pastoral Staff. Following the initial meeting, you will be asked to complete Prepare, a detailed personal and relationship evaluation designed for engaged couples. Once this assessment is reviewed, we will be in a better position to confirm that your wedding will be held at LakeView Church.

Our pastors require each couple to attend premarital counseling sessions built around the Prepare evaluation. For this reason, you’ll want to make plans to begin premarital counseling at least six months before your wedding.

Our wedding coordinators will help you with LakeView wedding resources, rehearsal staging, and your ceremony. You must use one of our coordinators, who will provide access to the building, as well as helpful information and service. Your coordinator will work closely with the pastoral staff member involved in your wedding.

After your wedding date is finalized by the pastoral staff member performing the premarital counseling, a wedding coordinator will contact you to begin discussing ceremony details. The wedding coordinator will contact you around four months prior to your wedding date.

Our gymnasium and, to a lesser extent, our auditorium are available for your rehearsal dinner and reception. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed anywhere in the facility or on the church grounds and smoking is not permitted in the building. You will need to work with the wedding coordinator to determine what will be needed by way of set-up and clean-up and what fees may apply.
