Alex grew up outside Detroit, MI where he developed a love for Motown, Detroit sports, and working on cars. His faith became his own in 9th grade when his mentor taught him what it means to truly love the Lord with everything. It was at this time that Alex felt the Lord calling him to vocational ministry.
He graduated from Cedarville University (B.A.) in 2008 and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.Div) in 2012. It was at Trinity, that he met his wife, Nerissa, who was working there for the summer. They have 2 boys, Ezra and Miles.
Some of his ministry experiences include church planting in the Philippines, serving as a middle school youth pastor in Brighton, MI, preaching in India, and being part of a team of youth pastors in Hungary with Send International. Through these experiences, Alex felt the Lord’s call specifically to youth ministry. He is most passionate about the gospel and loves leading youth to “make their faith their own.” He has a heart for missions and discipleship.
Alex is mostly left-handed, can circular breathe but cannot whistle. He enjoys watching baseball and hockey, as well as playing Ultimate and Rugby. He also enjoys audio books and cooking with his wife.
