Proverbs (well, really the whole Bible) is a treasure trove of wisdom for life. It teaches us how God designed life to work. This week Pastor Andy turns to Proverbs 3:1-12 to unpack it’s teaching in how we relate to God, which in turn changes everything else in our lives.
“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials” (1 Peter 1:6, NIV). How can the Bible say that we should rejoice in the middle of suffering? Pastor Andy digs into 1 Peter 1:3-9 to find out what Peter meant when he wrote those words, and how they apply to our lives today.
Pastor Andy continues the series through Mark’s Gospel. In Mark 14:32-52, Jesus goes to the Garden of Gethsemane with His disciples to spend the night in prayer. It was there He faced His darkest hour, the moment at which He began to experience separation from God the Father. As we see Jesus face the dark night of the soul, we’ll discover the way through (not around) suffering in our own lives.
In the sixth installment of our series through the Gospel of Mark, Pastor Andy teaches from Mark 4:35-41. In this story, Jesus and the disciples head out across the Sea of Galilee in their boats, only to run into a dangerous storm that threatens their lives. What Jesus does is nothing short of miraculous, and we learn how we can follow Jesus even amidst the storms of life.
