Membership

“For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another” (Romans 12:4-5).

Church membership isn’t the same as a rewards membership with a clothing brand or a membership at a local gym. Rather, being a member of the church means being a family member of God’s household. When you visit a hotel, you’re not a family member—you’re a guest. You don’t wash the towels, clean the bathroom, or make the bed. If you want something, you order room service. But when you go home, you step into your own domain. If you don’t make your bed, it won’t get made. If you don’t do your laundry, it won’t get done. In a healthy family, every family member contributes to the wellbeing of the family and the home. In God’s household, every family member is valued and loved, and every family member plays an important role in the life and wellbeing of the church.

When you become a Member at LakeView, you covenant to love one another, encourage one another, build relationships with others, serve, give, and be a fully engaged family member in God’s household. Likewise, the Overseers, Pastors, and Members of LakeView covenant to love, encourage, serve, give, and walk with you through the ups and downs of life as we follow Jesus together.
